Accommodation

The conference committee of ASCILITE 2002 are pleased to be able to offer a selection of accommodation options, ranging from on-campus student rooms, for NZ$65 per night, to central city hotels which range from NZ$120 to NZ$200+ per night.

The options (with special rates for delegates) are:

UNITEC Residential Village

UNITEC Residential Village (student accomodation) is now FULL.

This complex of student apartments opened in 2002 and is located in pleasant surroundings adjacent to a public reserve. The student accommodation is five minutes walk from the main conference venue, along a paved walk through bush and past waterfalls.

The Village offers a 'flatting' option in one of 34 separate, self-contained apartments. Each of these has five bedrooms and a shared lounge, kitchen and bathroom.Apartments are furnished with two two-seater couches, an armchair, coffee table, dining table and chairs. Each single room has curtains, a bed, chair, desk, wardrobe, shelves and noticeboard. The apartments are self-catered and the kitchens come equipped with stove, fridge/freezer and microwave. There is also a laundry with coin-operated washing machine and dryers on site.

The cost of NZ$65 is inclusive of GST. This will include your accommodation in a single room (bed is a three quarter size, in between single and double) with access to lounge, kitchen and bathroom facilities shared with four others.

Bookings for student accommodation must be made and paid for at the time of registration for the conference.

Bookings for hotels and motels other than the UNITEC Residential Village must be made directly. They cannot be booked as part of your ASCILITE 2002 registration.

 

Mercure Hotel Auckland

Overlooking the picturesque Waitemata Harbour this hotel is ideally located to explore the city's dining, shopping and entertainment venues.

Conference organisers have been successful in securing a rate to delegates of ASCILITE 2002 of NZ$135.00 plus GST (12.5%) per room per night. Due to the forthcoming Louis Vutton Cup (the Americas Cup Challenge), it is essential that you book early to secure this accommodation in what will be the most sought after location in Auckland in December 2002!

Motel accommodation option

The closest motel to the conference venue is the Mt Albert Lodge. Located at 201 Carrington Rd, Mt Albert it is approximately ten minutes walk from the conference venue. The Mt Albert Lodge offers rooms from NZ$90 per night. Please book directly with the motel:
