ascilite awards will be presented at the ascilite 2010 conference opening ceremony. There are two categories of awards: ascilite Life Membership awards which are perpetual awards and ascilite Fellow awards which are annual awards that are conferred for the year only.

The ascilite Life Membership Award is an honorary award that recognises sustained and admirable service of an ascilite member to the society. The award is judged by the ascilite executive committee using the following criteria.

The nominee must:

  1. Be a current member of ascilite.
  2. Have been a member of ascilite for an extended period of time.
  3. Have made a significant contribution to the core activities and key directions of ascilite.
  4. Have demonstrated leadership and been integral in the implementation of ascilite activities and strategic objectives.
  5. Have assumed a significant role in ascilite governance (e.g. served on ascilite Executive, AJET editorial board, Conference Organising Committee).

Nominations for ascilite Life Membership Award must be received by 5pm Monday 18th October 2010.

The ascilite Fellow Award recognises the outstanding contributions of ascilite members in the exemplary use of technologies for teaching and learning in tertiary education. Selection for the ascilite Fellow award is judged on merit by the ascilite executive committee against the following criteria.

The nominee must:

  1. Be a current member of ascilite.
  2. Have been a member of ascilite for a minimum of three (3) years.
  3. Have made an explicit and influential contribution to the exemplary use of technologies for teaching and learning in tertiary education.
  4. Through their contributions, have promoted the strategic goals and vision of ascilite.

Nominations for ascilite Fellow awards must be received by 5pm Wednesday 10th November 2010.

A call will be sent out to ascilite members in August inviting nominations from members for the ascilite awards. Information about the awards is also available from the ascilite website.
