Conference Dinner Theme

The ASCILITE 2003 conference dinner theme will be "Grape Expectations".

The colour scheme for the dinner will be Burgundy (a nice red wine colour) and Gold (a delightful white wine colour).

This year's ASCILITE 2003 conference dinner has the theme "Grape Expectations". The theme came about as a mixture of the venue, the state and the anticipation generally held by delegates of this conference.

Delegates usually have "Great Expectations" of a grand and fun night at the conference dinner; The venue is the Grand Ballroom at the Hyatt Hotel, Adelaide - one which evokes images of the grand ballroom entrances of the 1800 and 1900's; And of course, the conference is being held in the "Wine Capital of Australia" And so a mix of grandeur and wine theme seemed appropriate. To this end delegates and guests are welcome to dress formally or informally to match this broad theme.

Be bold - go for the period ball gown or 1800's suit
Be brave - come as a "wino" or your favourite bottle of wine
Be conservative - blend with the colour theme - burgundy and gold
At the very least find a grape motif or piece of jewellry
