Workshop Title:
Effective Interactions for On-Line Learning with the NEW Authorware

Time: 1.30 pm Ð 4.30

Outline
The workshop will begin with an exposition of the features of on-line learning environments, followed by a presentation of simple case-studies of its operation. With an emphasis on practical work, participants will then have the opportunity to implement a short prototype of interactive on-line learning environments using the new release of Authorware.
The workshop will cover the following areas:

  1. The features of on-line learning relevant to enhancing interactive education
  2. Research aspects of the effectiveness of on-line learning
  3. Building interactions for on-line learning using the new Authorware
  4. Advanced features for interactive on-line learning using the new Authorware
  5. Integrating advanced learner options for on-line learning

Objectives
Upon completion of the workshop, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the features of an effective on-line learning environment
  • Describe the ways in which the features of the new Authorware will
  • facilitate effective design and delivery of on-line learning
  • Design a range of effective instructional interactions for on-line
  • learning using the new Authorware
  • Create exemplar interactions for on-line learning
  • Implement strategies for enagaging, effective interactive applications

Audience
The workshop is intended for delegates who have a knowledge of educational computing and some experience with developing interactive applications, but who wish to develop an understanding of the opportunities inherent with on-line learning. The workshop is specifically designed to detail the educational features and structures of the new version of Authorware and how it can facilitate the use of the Internet and World Wide Web for effective interactive learning experiences.
